LAS CRUCES - Electronic Caregiver in Las Cruces prides itself on being a hometown, home-grown company that encourages the community to take advantage of its services. These services range from providing technology that can help all ages to telecare for patients who need it the most.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare providers were forced to adapt to the evolving challenges that it brought; this included a heavier reliance on telehealth.

Mark Francis is the Chief Digital Health Integration Officer at Electronic Caregiver. He emphasized how important it was to ECG that they were able to provide the services to patients remotely.

"Specific to the launch of the Clinical Triage and Telehealth Services Center, our provider partners came to us and requested we establish the service. With agreements to move business to ECG, we committed to expand business and create this new line of business," Francis said.

"We are now in the midst of a hybrid model of healthcare, which is a remote/virtual care coupled with in-person care, as appropriate for the patient and patient needs." Francis continued.

First launching in October 2021, ECG's Telehealth Services Center continues to grow and expand. According to the director of ECG's human resources department, Electronic Caregiver has hired 161 employees in Las Cruces in the past six months. This includes a range of 22 departments that have been created to meet patients' needs.

"The company has more than doubled its workforce and now employs nearly 300 people. 115 new hires qualified under our (Job Training Incentive Program) grant awarded by the State of New Mexico. We have hired developers, customer services specialists, nurses, CNAs, medical sales professionals and other positions," HR Director Albert Parra said.

To make room for the new employees, ECG recently renovated and moved into the third floor of the Electronic Caregiver Tower, where the company's new Clinical Triage and Telehealth Services Center is located. With this addition, the company now occupies more than half of the downtown tower that bears its name.

Support for Electronic Caregiver has continued to grow the company, receiving grants from JTIP, the City of Las Cruces and El Paso Electric.

The continued growth of Electronic Caregiver has enabled its employees to provide patient enrollment, health coaching and care coordination services that are important to a client's engagement with their own telehealth services.

"These services are all part of a patient engagement with telehealth — holistically — and chronic care management and remote patient monitoring, specifically. We now have the expertise in-house to assist our customers as broadly or narrowly as they need to deliver world-class services, enhance care and improve outcomes." Francis said.

John Muñoz, executive director of Electronic Caregiver, highlights that the company makes it a priority to be involved in the Las Cruces community, like hosting the latest Health and Wellness Fair on April 2, 2022.

"Through our partnerships and connections, we support several organizations in Doña Ana County, including Big Brothers Big Sisters Mountain Region, Casa de Peregrinos, the Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce and the Alzheimer's Association, New Mexico Chapter," Muñoz said.

Muñoz is astounded by the support from investors and those interested in supporting the efforts within Electronic Caregiver. For information on the services ECG can provide, vist https://electroniccaregiver.com/.
